The GALERIE PAPST at Annenstraße 9 in Graz opens its doors with the GRAND OPENING on September 6th, 2025, to all art enthusiasts, featuring the promising Hungarian artist HELGA KOVÁCS, whose artistic name CAECO GALAH already reveals much about her.
The artist is devoted to the truth and freedom of creation, focusing on the depths of the human soul:
"The soul must take the place of conscience" – this striking quote by Hungarian writer Béla Hamvas has shaped Helga and is expressed in her paintings, graphics, photographs and poetic experiments.
The artist believes that every creation contains a spirit that an attentive viewer can perceive and recognize.
The highly sensitive Caeco Galah leaves nothing to chance, working meticulously and passionately, often for years, on her artworks. She creates new worlds on very old paper, from Latin book pages from the 18th century, which she transforms into stories and faces in her work – combining the old, the soulful and the extraordinary with her unique access to the depths of the soul. The young artist studied Architecture at TU Graz and Stage Design and Costume Design at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz. It is therefore no surprise to those familiar with her work that she won a European Production Design Award for a German short film.
The opening of Galerie Papst takes place on Saturday, September 6 th, from 16:00 p.m., under the promising exhibition title: "I am here, yet hardly visible". The young gallery owner, Markus Papst, launches his gallery as a newcomer for young and experienced talents under the motto “Art for everyone!”
Visitors can expect a charming atmosphere, an amazing emerging artist, many motivated guests, and high-quality musical accompaniment – in short, a very special afternoon.
